REACH AHEAD University Transition Program supports high school students as they transition to university / college, ensuring a smooth and successful adjustment to the academic, social, and personal challenges. Tailored for incoming university / college freshmen, this program offers a range of resources, workshops, and support services.
Key Components:
Pre-College Preparation Workshops: Pre-college preparation workshops include time management, study skills, academic writing, financial literacy, and navigating campus resources.
Peer Mentoring: Each participant of the Transition Program is paired with a peer mentor – THINNOX alumni who serves as a guide and resource throughout the transition process. Peer mentors offer support, advice, and encouragement, sharing their own experiences and helping incoming freshmen navigate challenges in university/ college.
Reach Ahead Learning Modules: The program offers Reach Ahead Courses in 5 specialized program pathways to help students get a head start in their university college coursework.
Academic Support Services: The program offers tutoring, study groups, coaching, and workshops on topics such as effective notetaking, test preparation, and time management.
Personal Development Workshops: The program also offers personal development workshops focused on stress management, self-care, resilience, and goal setting to help navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of transitioning to college life.
Career Exploration and Planning: The program supports students in exploring career options and developing a plan for their academic and professional goals through college/university.
