About Chess

Chess has been played for over 500 hundred years. In the opening 4 moves of chess there can be over 4 millions different moves the pieces can make in the first 4 moves. There are many different openings that Grand Masters make in chess with each opening planed out amatours prefere to wing it. There are 64 squares on the chess board and piece take up 42 squares of the board.

Each piece is worth a certain amount of points. Pawns are worth 1 point, rooks are worth 5 points, knights and bishops are worth 3 points and queens are worth 11 points.
