Video & Sound Production Overview

Anyone can make a film, right? Chances are you have had a taste of film making already with your handy-cam. If you are looking to improve upon your skills this course is for you. In this course you will learn about pre-production - planning and preparing actors, content, and equipment; you will learn about story boarding; production - using the components of a video production system--video, audio, talent, sets; and post-production - editing - music and effects. You will learn about lighting and sound. You will also learn how to polish the sound and visual effects. During the course of the year long program you will make several films including a garage band, a documentary and a person presentation

The program helps you to master the fundamentals of story telling using media and technology. By using content from your science curriculum you are able to present your methods, approaches and results more compellingly in competitions. Content from language and social sciences could result in documentaries.

As in all our courses along with the harder skills you also learn critical 21st century life skills, such as collaboration, creativity, problem solving, project management, and critical thinking.
