3D Animation
Used in games, films, cartoons and commercials 3D is one of the fastest growing creative technologies in the world. In this camp you create a 30-60 second animated film, using industry standard photo-editing, 3D graphic and 3D animation software. At the end of the camp you carry copies of your work home. Your film is screened at the Design Expo in fall.
During the camp you get deeply involved with the 3D animation process using Maya - the industry standard 3D animation tool. You learn about motion and rendering and 3D animation concepts such as rigging, gravity, particle simulation, and special effects. You create sound effects for your film.
- This camp is most suitable for age 13+ innovators and wizards contemplating the study of animation or game design at the university level.
- Prior animation experience is necessary, art and/or computer experience is helpful.
- Apart from the core program, the camp day plan is well rounded and includes many warm ups, energizers, team builders and creativity contests during the camp day to win friends and cool prizes.
- 6 to 8 participants per camp.
